I had my cataract surgery in March and I am impressed by how Dr. Ma and his team run his pre-op and post-op procedures. Everything was well managed and instructed. Dr. Ma and his team were so helpful to answer all my questions. He is a brilliant surgeon and provides the most comprehensive care in order to obtain the best results for his patients. I got Covid three days after my second eye surgery and called his office to ask whether I needed to reschedule my follow-up appointment. I was surprised that Dr. Ma insisted on seeing me. That means he was concerned about his patients' eye health rather than his own health. Moreover, I had double lasik surgery 20 years ago; and last year I developed milky cataract in my right eye . It was very difficult to correct it to 20/20 vision. Dr. Ma operated on my right eye and I regained 20/20 vision within the day of the surgery. He is indeed a very talented surgeon. I greatly appreciate him and his team's excellent work.

My dry eye specialist suspected I had the first signs of cataract; and since I did lasik surgery a few years ago, he said Dr Ma has experience in that area. First off his nurse insisted my husband stay throughout the appointment, she said its their protocol to have a caretaker to learn how to apply eye drops for me after the cataract surgery, but I wasnt even diagnosed at that point! After many tests Dr Ma announced that I didnt have cataract, but my dry eyes were serious. I just saw my dry eyes specialist a week before, wasnt that his decision instead of Mas? Finally I caved in and allowed him to insert 2 tear duct plugs, which cost $260 and were useless, I had my dry eye specialist took them out today. I wonder if Ma felt he needed to charge me something on top of billing OHIP a couple of hours. I was open to second opinions, but not from an arrogant and greedy doctor. Wont go to him ever again.

BEST eye doctor ever. I had my surgery at least 2 years ago. He follows up every year with me to check my eyes! (and I'm not charged so hopefully that means it's covered under ohip) The ladies in his office are top notch eye technicians. I have very sensitive eyes and tsking scans are very uncomfortable for me and they are able to do it skillfully and quickly. (I've went to many laser eye surgery consults prior to Dr. Ma and they were all terrible. And their technicians that took the eye scans were unskilled in comparison. Felt like torture each time at those other eye clinics) Dr. Ma is very skilled. I have no problems with my eyes and still have perfect vision which isna requirement for my job. My job requires me to work on small objects 1/10ths of a millimeter. Microns. As to other reviews saying he only treats wealthy clients well. I have to say that I've never had a problem. I go to his appointments in my comfy sweatpants and t shirts. So i definately don't LOOK wealthy.
