HomeLife/ROMANO has been around since 1975. They are well versed in the ins and outs of real estate. I've had agents from this company help me find rentals in the gta and have never been disappointed. The administration and front desk staff are extremely friendly and very professional. I would like to share with you my unpleasant experience and I expect you to be the judge with your professional integrity and honesty. responding to your listing MLS #N5425496, I contacted Sam (agent) , I asked some question and explained my intention to buy this vacant lot build a house and move to Georgina. after having all positive and favorable answers, I put an offer to purchase this lot and after negotiation my offer was accepted. thank God I put the condition to check the rules and regulations about the building permit. I was asked to send a $30,000.00 bank draft for deposit and I did send it by FedEx since I am not living in Toronto. just before the bank draft was cashed, I got the response to my inquiry from the city of Georgina as well as the LSRCA(Lake Simcoe Recreational Conservation Authority) that this lot is a wetland and no building is permitted, while the description in the listing clearly says "attention builders and investors" . I informed the agent about this issue and he said that he did not know about it. although no prudent real estate agent would list a property for sale without first knowing the basic features, but yet when I asked the agent to send me back the bank draft by registered mail, he said we can send it back by regular mail that is no guaranty that it will not be lost in the mail. even I offered to pay for the cost of sending it by registered mail but he did not accept and said you can come to our office in Toronto to pick it up while he knew that I am living 2 hours away. I had no other choice but to drive to Toronto 2 hours one way to pick up the bank draft. now please put yourself in my shoe, misinformation in the listing and yet lack of co operation in sending the bank draft back even when I offered to pay the cost for not driving 4 hours. what do you think?
