Unfortunately as a recent Muslim convert who converted out of a sect out of Shia Islam, this masjid for the last 3 years has poorly treated me like nothing. I did not appreciate how they try to be contingent upon making everything based on Turkish culture which is not what Islam is about. Islam is based upon refining your character and following the Quran and Teachings of our Prophet Muhammad . Imam Osman called me a shaytan meaning devil over the phone simply because I got mad that they are diluting Islam and basing it around culture which has nothing to do with the religion at all. Just because they have moved here, they cant be patriotic and expect everyone to not have a cultural bias. I was born in Canada. Im also Turkish, Kurdish but from the Alevi community, however they took me out of their group simply because I didnt agree with their teachings. Im sorry Imam Osman, but get off your high horse and learn the Arabic Quran which is the REAL Quran. Assalam alaikum.
