dont even answer the phone after ive paid them for my case. ive called multiple times and so have family members but they refuse to speak even though weve paid

Paid them in full for a bail hearing but they will not answer the phone when I or a family member call to have one set up. Told me to cancel my trial date because he didnt read the file so he wasn't ready for it just for him to schedule it to next year in 2024? Terrible place to come if you need a lawyer go somewhere else

In 2015 I was charged with a serious crime I didn't commit against someone who was in the military. The odds were against me. My word against his, I spent 3 days at OCDC, never been committed of a crime before, I was scared. The girls at OCDC recommended Oliver Abergel. He was highly recommended and in my eyes preformed a miracle. He informed me the possible outcomes and I was facing 2 to 5 years behind bars. The end result? My case was dismissed and I don't have a criminal record! Everyone was dismissed. This guy is so well respected in the courtroom and really has some strong arguments. He proved my innocence.

I spoke to Michael very early on in my case with all the details. Although he didn't make any promises, he made it seem as if he could get me a great deal. After I retained Michael, as time went on, my confidence in him started to decline. He was relaying very limited information on what was happening with my case. I told him everything in full before retaining him to best prepare my case. I realized I was not going to get the deal I was hoping for but Michael made it seem very much achievable, yet he never delivered even close to. In addition to this, he was very unprofessional and unorganized. He had given me a court date (four weeks in advance) but it turned out to be a day before the initial court date. We were lucky enough the judge was willing to help and fit us in for that day. Can you imagine if it instead happened to be a day after the settled court date? He also seemed to put in minimal effort. He informed me of my charges which he negotiated with the prosecutor. On the final court date, to my surprise, I found out the charges were completely different which was very unexpected. I found this super shocking, confusing and disturbing that I was not informed until the last minute. It is mind boggling that your own lawyer won't make the effort to keep you in the loop if the negotiation has completely changed. Michael I met on the first day, who was assuring and confident, was not the same Michael that carried the case. Everytime I asked him to return to the negotiating table, he turned me down and told me it was a bad idea when he could've stopped the negotiations. There seemed to be a lack of open communication. When I questioned the system, he would shut me off and say "That's how it is" or "we can't do any better, they will make it worse if we go back" without any further explanation. It's extremely disappointing to expect more and walk away with long term impact.
