Dr DiSilvestro is probably an excellent orthopedic surgeon but his post operative patient care is questionable. It is uncertain why Dr DiSilvestro is deficient in this regard but the record speaks for itself. He took on another Doctors patients while the doctor was on vacation. He failed to properly attend to a hip replacement patients distress and the patient died. He was disciplined by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario in that he had to appear for an in person caution and write a report on postoperative bowel obstruction and Ogilvies syndrome. The fact that a surgeon with his experience was required to report on such a basic matter speaks volumes! He performed ankle fusion surgery on me (I was unaware of his prior disciplinary history). I developed an infection following surgery and Infectious Disease (ID) doctors were involved in determining the type of infection. He dismissed ID physicians from further follow up. I developed a subsequent infection and had to have my leg amputated. The Ontario College of Physicians & Surgeons appears to believe there is merit in my complaint against him. It has taken a year with them so far! He will probably get another slap on the wrist!! Follow up; It took 17 months for the Ontario College to find that there was no merit in my complaint. Apparently Dr. DiSilvestro is qualified to do everything? By the way, he has had 4 complaints against him, only disciplined when the patient died!

Just wish to thank Dr Di Silvestro for my new hip (with extention l). It has been 6 months and I am walking without a limp, with a assimetry of 4.6 since the operation. Thank you and your staff for the excellent work

I have had 2 foot surgeries by this doctor and I am so impressed as to how Dr. Dr Disilvestro and his team are able to make me feel safe and comfortable. I would recommend this Dr.

Dr Di Silvastro was amazing he was very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. I am so happy to finally have this procedure.
