66 Spadina Road Apartments - Sterling Karamar

Despite all the renovations this is still an old building with many issues. For example, we had 4 leaks in our apartment in the 2 years before we moved out. Pros: -Great location, close to shops and on a subway line. -Newly renovated hallways, apartments entranceway and laundry room. -Parking available (limited spaces and pretty tight) -Hadnt seen any cockroaches in the last 6 months before I moved out (extermination seems to be working). -Apartments are pretty big with thick walls so you cant really hear neighbours. Cons: -Cannot control or turn on/off heating. Had a record high of 31 degrees Celsius in the middle of winter, bought fans for the windows to try blow the cold winter air in. (the road is quite loud so I had to choose between not sleeping because of the heat or not sleeping because of the noise!) -No Air conditioning in the building. Window air con units must be installed and inspected by a professional every summer at a cost to the tenant. -Constant renovations and water turn offs. -Garbage area is nearly always a mess. -Large amount of dust from the road and construction. -Elevators are very slow and regularly out of service. -Aerators were installed on all faucets and showers, so the water pressure is quite poor.
