Dr. Shahryar Rashti

I'd been going to Doctor Buim since I was a child (over 25 years). He gave EXCELLENT care, but I am neurodivergent with sensory issues so going to the dentist has always been an unpleasant experience for me. I wasn't sure what to expect when Dr. Rashti took over. But my expectations were blown away! I've now seen both him and some of his team members, and this care is beyond anything I could have expected. They have all worked with me to help the dentist be a better experience. They've been explaining everything they do without a hint of judgement, and they are helping me come up with other strategies as well. I hadn't been to the dentist since before the pandemic, and my hygienist, Karina, was VERY gentle with criticism while celebrating things I did well (Looking at you fellow ADHD/Autism friends - They are SO kind with our needs!) Even the front desk staff have been wonderful, giving me all in the info possible to plan my upcoming procedures. Dr. Rashti's bedside manner is so layed-back, soft and caring, and he makes excellent small talk. And the switch to a more current electronic records system has been an extremely welcome change. Being able to see exactly what his findings are from home is great! I think I don't hate going to the dentist anymore. :)

The quality of work from the dental hygienists, technicians, and Dr. Rashti himself is fantastic. I've been coming here since 2002 when this was Dr. Buim's practice, and he has left it in good hands. I don't even live downtown anymore but I still make the drive for every appointment -- absolutely worth it.

Would love to give 6 stars if I could. For context, my father was a dentist and Dr. Rashti took over the current practice from my family's previous favourite dentist, Dr. Daniel Buim. I didn't know what to expect but Dr. Rashti is just amazing; a pleasure to deal with. He currently treats our kids as well and his bedside manner and overall demeanour is fantastic! Dr. Rashti, like his predecessor, is also not pushy and does not nudge you to undergo unnecessary work, which is very refreshing and reassuring. I would recommend him and his team to anyone without reservation.

After visiting Dr Buim for many years with outstanding results, I was a bit worried when he decided to retire. Just like I had been in excellent hands with Dr Buim, he has passed on the practice to a great practitioner, Dr. Rashti. The standards of care, customer service, and welcoming atmosphere have been maintained. Best wishes Dr Buim, and thank you Dr Rashti for meeting the high bar that was set.
