Mount Sinai Hospital

My mom received service and asked me to post a review on her behalf: over a year ago I fell on the right side of my body and tore my rotor cuff. I continued to suffer until I went to the mount Sinai emergency. The hospital in emerg referred me to the 20th floor to see a physiotherapist. Kevin was the person who helped me recover. He was an active listener, patient, clarified my dialogue, and encouraged me to do my exercises at home. He was a very kind and helpful person and treated me with respect. Lastly we had a few laughs as well. Thank you for all your help. - Joyce

Sad to say, this is a new low for hospitals. My mom had to get rushed in to this gem of a hospital so she was taken though emergency. Now emergency is small so I completety understand that only one person can be with the patient at any time. Make sense right? So silly me thinks I'll just got around and wait in the waiting area Infront of the building just after the entrance while my father waits with her. As I'm walking up, I see at least 3 other people just sitting there so seems like it's allowed. I get to the door and get stopped by "security" who ask why I'm here, a valid question so I simply say exactly what happened above and that I was gonna wait in the waiting area until I get a call from the doctor or my father who is gonna stay with my mother. Amazingly, I get told that after 8pm they don't let anyone wait since it's part of visiting hours. Now I'm not "visiting" anyone but I guess it didn't matter and was told to wait somewhere else. Anyways, hope this helps someone else avoid this situation or this hospital all together but if your in Canada, odds are your stuck like I am.
