I just had the most demeaning experience at the Clinic Pharmacy at the Immunodeficiency Clinic at TGH. The person behind the counter was rude and curt from the moment I arrived. My physician sent refills on the same fax but the person argued that the script was filled properly and no more refills were sent. It was inherently clear from the moment I said who I was and what I was picking up that she was stigmatizing me, something that shouldnt happen at any pharmacy, much less an Immunodeficiency pharmacy. Its not hard to show kindness, I was polite when I arrived and tried to remain friendly in spite of this person talking over me and not allowing me to address the issue at hand. I have made some calls and was told to report the issue to the OCP and Human Rights. Will be contacting them tomorrow. You have no business working in a hospital with an attitude like that where youre typically dealing with people who are ill or at their worst.
