The Health Clinic By Shoppers

Doctors are ok but reception is clueless. Ive had multiple interactions with them and it always left me with a poor impression. I just got a call a week after I booked an appointment in person asking me why Im booking an appointment?? I stated the reason when I was booking it in person, why should I get inconvenienced over your incompetence to write down appointment notes? They mentioned that the Dr I booked with was reluctant to see me since I already saw someone else, but this was for a separate issue? Reception said that they could book me in for the same doctor I saw previously but I wanted to just get seen ASAP. Why even call to get me to change my appointment time? Could this not have been disclosed as I was booking the appointment (in person?) In short, its a very disorganized office and Im surprised anything gets done. You cant even do walk ins and you usually have to wait 2+ weeks to a month to get seen.

Doctor Grasic is never available, calls in sick all the time. Assistants don't pass along the messages, they blame on each other for lack of follow-up. The worst clinic service I've experienced.

Been going here for the past six months. New and well kept clinic, with friendly and helpful receptionists. The doctors take the time to listen, answer my questions, and give options that go beyond prescribing medication. Sometimes Ill have to play phone tag with reception but otherwise booking appointments via phone or online is pretty easy.

An overall impressive clinic and staff. The clinic is not crowded. very clean and new, the receptionists are professional and courteous and Dr. Lu was thorough and friendly. Like no other walk on clinic I went to in Toronto.

This clinic charges $25 for any referral, even if you have OHIP or UHIP. They also say it isn't refundable in any health insurance, if you try to bring up your insurance. This has happened to me and another person I know. Basically, go almost anywhere else in the city and you won't be forced to pay. I don't know how they get away with this. This is the first time I've had to pay for a referral in over 25 years in Canada. It felt like a scam. Great doctors and staff, but why charge for referrals, I do not get it.
