I walked in and out with the pair of shoes I originally wanted. But the customer service was terrible. The lady that helped me was not engaging, borderline standoff-ish and rude. I didn't feel comfortable or welcomed. I made the purchase because I knew what I wanted but if I were to have questions, I probably would've had a terrible experience with her

had a very pleasant experience here. store is in a convenient location and was easy to find. the store was recommended to me by one of my instructors as i need a solid pair of running shoes for the fitness portion. the sales lady was very kind and patient. i had no idea what i was looking for but she took the time to try several options that were suitable for me. she asked lots of relevant questions and quickly helped me find a pair that fit great and were comfortable for the level of exercise i am doing. Thanks for the great experience and I will recommend this place to my classmates :)

I recently purchased two pairs of shoes from the Rosedale store, which I weren't sure about in the store and decided to try them out at home. Eventually I decided neither quite fit my foot and returned both in separate occasions at this location. The first return was done on a weekend and was a normal interaction, where staff were perfectly friendly albeit being a bit busy. The second return was done during the week with an older blonde woman and was an alarmingly unpleasant experience all around. She also followed really questionable business practices. During that occasion, I was treated with various microaggressions from this employee the moment I stepped into the store. I was made to feel like I have been visually profiled, and based on my appearance alone was deemed to be a dishonest person and thus was unwelcome in the store. (I am a person of colour.) Although I had everything required for complying with the store's return policy, my requested transaction was interrogated along with my previous transaction history with the Running Room. The employee did not allow me to tap my own credit card for the return transaction, but rather took the card, scrutinized the details of the card before tapping it herself. She also seized all of my receipts of the transaction, including the ones for my initial purchase and the previous return which were stapled together. I was left only with the credit card machine transaction confirmation receipts. (I have been a customer of the Running Room for a while now and this isn't normal process.) Because of her abnormal behaviour regarding my credit card, I left the store feeling really worried that she may have falsified the transaction or did something questionable with my credit card. Luckily the return did go through. But as it turned out, my credit card company did independently flag my card as being compromised and locked it immediately after that transaction. Now I have to get a new card with a new number. If the home office reads this review, it's really not okay to treat people like as if they're second class citizens. I won't be returning to this store again.
