In 2009 & again in 2010, I purchased several tons of bulk pea gravel, soil and mulch from Laniel with no problems, to personally transform my tree-root-and-bug-ridden yard into an eco-friendly oasis of garden beds and gravel winding paths. After just now checking their online 2022 catalogue, I phoned to order a 1/2 ton of the same 3/8"fine river rock/pea gravel (PRPT.5) for $96.00 as listed, only to be told there is a 1 ton ($160.00) minimum purchase for delivery ($70.00). Nowhere is this minimum purchase requirement indicated on that page or anywhere else that I could find. I was told that was the price for a 1/2 ton if you came and got it yourself!!! As if everyone, including seniors like me, who looks after their garden has a pick-up truck! I don't need a whole ton and I resent the fact that this info is not clearly indicated in the catalogue. There are asterisks and explanatory notes beside other items, but not for this, so I just wasted my time and will start looking for another solution. Poor communication and customer service. Like many other businesses, the bigger they get, the worse the service :-(

This is a wonderful store. Thee people are knowled,geable and helpful. They have a large selection of stones and a the accessories that one may need. I recommend this store without hesitation.
