My husband passed away on November 13, 2019. We didnt know what we needed to do. We called E J Coutu & Co Funeral Directors. My two daughters and I met with Ed and he was so approachable. He put us at ease. He went through all options available to us. He asked us about my husband Rick and what he was like and what he would want. Besides helping us with the funeral planning he let me know what I needed to do for CPP survivors benefit and how to apply for a death benefit etc. We had Rick cremated and were looking at urns at the funeral home. We mentioned having a burial and Ed suggested the possibility of using the box style and not an expensive urn. I was impressed with this as he never tried to sell us on any higher package or service. Ed was always available to us during the planning stages of the funeral service and on the day of the service. Before the burial took place at a later time i had a bit of ash removed for my daughters and later for Ricks sister. Both times Ed did this for me without hesitation. I appreciated this. I highly recommend Ed and his team as he is very approachable, compassionate, caring and listens attentively. He really put us at ease. I thank you Ed for all your care. Although it has taken me a couple of years to write my review I have thought about Ed often.

Saturday, September 04/21 If I could give more than 5 stars I certainly would. My thanks to Coutu for making this experience for myself and my family a flawless affair, and a special thanks to Elizabeth for taking such good care of all of us. We really were treated as more then just clients, through Elizabeth and Coutu we were taken gently through what couldve been a horrible experience. Instead, we received the most compassionate care and thoughtfulness imaginable. Should the need ever arise again, and I hope that it doesnt, I wouldnt hesitate to call upon these gracious people again.

The EJ Coutu Team were wonderful in taking care of organizing the celebration of my fathers passing. They were very patient and listened to all of our various concerns and found excellent solutions to them. The ceremony went off without a hitch. Very personable and professional, highly recommend.
