Really nice people work here. They are very patient and understanding considering how much they do for the community and how understaffed they are .

they often work against the citizens of the province, often do not follow legislation or laws. It's like they have unlimited resources to pay lawyers to fight against an average citizen even when they should be on your side. Do not trust them, be weary of dealing with them. Even if they get it wrong you will never be made whole. Do not expect good results from them. If you are a victim do not expect them to be effective as their work is often so sloppy. Take notes if you deal with them. Best to stay away from them. If you have money, hire your own lawyer to keep them honest.

Staff at the Human Rights Commission, which falls under the Department of Justice, were condescending, rude, confrontational and completely unhelpful when I phoned about a human rights issue. I was desperate for help and they treated me like a pest that wasn't worth their time. Wouldn't even answer the most basic of questions I had about my rights as a Canadian.
