Always a wait. ALWAYS. In times of recruitment and retention issues - how about cross- training all of the support people working within the branch, to assist with cashier/service during acutely busy times? Like on Dec 28th with 13 people deep in line and ++ upset people? There 's a suggested efficiency perhaps you should try. Think outside the box during these extraordinary times! Do better please.

In my 15+ years banking with royal bank of Canada, i have never experience the level of discrimination and lack of customer service. I am not one to raise my voice or yell at people, i understand that its easier to get things done when being respectful and understanding. This was not the case at RBC St.Thomas, Branch Teller Mikayla has no respect and showed signs of aggression towards a customer who simply wanted to cash a cheque. As my self and partners do understand sometimes holds are necessary we asked for compromise considering our closing date. Instead of a manager coming out to see us Mikayla was sent to yell at us and threaten calling the police, although we were not aggressive in any way. Simply wanted to cash the cheque with our original teller who was polite, by cashing the cheque, we would then be able to contact our financial manager at a different branch to clear the deposit. We were then threatened again by Mikayla if we didn't leave immediately. What Mikayla and her assistant manager don't know is the relationships with in RBC i've made over the 15+ years and i will be sure to let all of them know of my experience and the training needed for those specific staff members. As i do not wish for anyone to lose their jobs during these economic times.
