Forest Hill Residences Rental Apartments

I lived there back in the early 80's and we had roaches then. I used to put down my own solution along the baseboards and it took care of them. Spacious apartments but gone up a lot since I moved out.

I lived at Hollyburn Forest Hill Residences for four years - in that time I had multiple experiences with cockroaches, mice, and red ants despite using every strategy at my disposal to keep them out of my apartment (all of my belongings/food in plastic containers, regular deep cleaning, traps) - unfortunately, if you don't treat the whole building, it's hard for any individual unit to keep the pests out. No control over the heat in my apartment and the sink backed up 3+ times -- I was told that it was because I was putting grease down the drain (I was not, and was also vegetarian at the time). The on-site resident manager was quick to respond and there were patchwork solutions quickly put in place (spraying my unit, glue traps) but there were no long-term fixes put in place, and the pests were eventually the reason I had to leave. The building is safe, and I appreciated that. At the original rental price of $1550 for a large one bedroom, the above was worth it, but with rent hikes bringing the costs much higher over the years, there are are far better and cleaner places available for the same price point.

Terrible experience all around, 0 stars would be more accurate. Our first day here our kitchen was covered in dead roaches in the cupboards, drawers, sink, fridge, stove and even in the living room. Then we had 2 separate incidents were we saw more coming from the same areas despite receiving treatments. I have seen roaches in the elevator on 2 separate occasions and in the laundry room. Disgusting. We had mice in our kitchen and didnt hear back from management for nearly 4 weeks and were dismissed after reaching out a 2nd time. There is red ants all over the building too. I have had them in the living room, bathroom and kitchen. Not to mention all the non-pest related issues that weve had in the unit. Olman the resident manager does his best to quickly deal with all the issues we have but Omar Boland, the property manager does not care for the tenants. He is dismissive of our concerns , downplays every issue and extremely arrogant. He is quicker to shift the blame onto the tenants than accept responsibility. After reading other reviews about Hollyburn Properties here and on other websites, there is clearly a trend. Large buildings like these will always have issues no doubt but the level of issues here and the dismissal by management is another level. STAY AWAY.
