This clinic usually services the senior citizens of the community. It has a pharmacy within it and two family doctors. The main pharmacist (Jane) is always informative and keeps up to date with drugs and communicates well with customers. The doctors own and have been working there for over 40 years. They are not exceptional medical professionals but have served the community widely and much needed by the seniors. I am here to write about the receptionist at the front desk. She is rude, disrespectful and has no patience for the seniors when arrive to check in with her. I went there with my elderly mother today. She and I went up and stood in front of the window to check in. While my mother was getting out her healthcard, the receptionist rudly asked for it, not a minute past she asked for it again. I told her to wait cuz we are getting it out. Then when we handed to her, my mother was putting her wallet back into her pocket, the receptionist said, "Go sit down, I'll call you when I'm done". Not a minute past and she said rudely again, "Go sit, don't wait for me to be done signing you in". By this time, I was upset and had to tell her, "Hold on, give her some time to out her things away then she can move! ". The receptionist proceeded to get upset and defend herself by saying, "Do you know chinese? I wasn't rushing her. I was just telling her to go sit down." Now at this point I did not continue to argue with her, said whatever and then sarcastically agreed with her. By now you can guess this conversation was in Cantonese. And she was being rude by saying I didn't understand her. And as you know, obviously I do understand if I'm responding. It's like telling an immigrant if they can speak English, but she is saying the opposite to me. I didn't know we were no longer in Canada. This lady DOES NOT AND SHOULD NOT be around senior citizens or any front desk work as a matter of fact. She is rude to anyone who doesn't not react fast. She is an agist. She wants people out of her face as soon as they place their card down. As we were leaving my mother was being kind and tried to say good-bye. She had to say it twice and up close to her window for the receptionist to weakly acknowledge my mother with her words and eyebrow raised. She did not even look at my mother. The worst customer service!! I realize it's covid. But people do not need this lack of compassion in a medical clinic. I know people have to go there. So this is a warning to you all who has to suffer through this rude, ignorant fool of a person just to see the doctor.
