Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre -Geriatric Day Hospital

Last few times I have been in this hospital in 3 different departments I have been treated in an unprofessional and dehumanizing manner. They have zero respect or compassion for persons with disabilities as evidenced by how they speak to, interact and address any concerns etc. Quite frankly should be ashamed of themselves for how they treat the public especially those with disabilities. Horrendous treatment at the Odette Cancer Centre by a power hungry employee. You know who you are and you will have to live with your own karma and the great thing about karma is you have to live with yourself and I get to walk away. For the comment writers on here, I share your sentiments about how deplorable this hospital and some of its employees are and do not expect to get anywhere with their Patient Relations Office, they are there for the hospital not the patient.

Sunnybrook hospital is by far the worst hospital system Ive ever used. No practitioner or clinic gives you the time of day. You call and listen to automated menus, leave voicemails just to never hear back. I find I have to be my only advocate as there is no support to get you the care you need unless you are arguing on your behalf. There are developing countries that have facilities at par or better than Sunnybrook and the wait times are hard to fathom they are so bad. Would strongly urge anyone to seek out alternative care if possible. EDIT: 1.5 weeks post op and my surgeon informed me of a follow up appointment for 3/31 at 8am, when I arrived they had no record of said appointment. EDIT 2: went for second follow up for X-ray on 4/14 as instructed by fracture clinic and they had no record of X-ray order.
