I find that this is one of the worst places to job hunt. The woman in the blue vest is always talking loudly and it makes it really hard to compose a cover letter. I see people in the waiting area treated as though they are an inconvenience by the staff on the floor. Oftentimes, there are very few people in the computer area. I imagine it's because they're not made to feel very welcome. It's really too bad. There are a lot of impoverished people in the neighbourhood, and it would be a great resource to help get them off the streets; not everyone wants to be there. Some just made a wrong decision or had one bad circumstance that put them there. The woman with the curly hair and glasses working at the desk behind the glass today was kind. I also received services from an employment counselor years back. Her name is Sylvie Manos. She was so nice, honest and empathetic. She retired. I wish Service Canada would hire more people like her. She never made you feel bad for trying to find a job. Now I know why the place is only really busy when the Socual Assistance cheques are coming out; it's because those people are being treated like second class citizens. It's sad that getting service at Service Quebec is so rare.
