Rooms: The rooms are individually decorated and vary, which is part of the charm. They even have tiny sewing kits, which I appreciated when I put on a pair of socks and found a hole in one! Our room was slightly bigger than I'd expect a chain hotel room to be, and was quiet and comfortable. Our bathroom had a rainfall shower. Nearby activities: Museums, shops, architecture, outdoor art, parks, just about anything you'd want to do on vacation. Safety: The street is pretty well-traveled and well-lit. We never felt "iffy" or concerned for our safety. There is always someone on duty at the front desk if you need anything. Walkability: You can walk to a couple of pharmacies, a couple of grocers, restaurants, and public transit very easily. There is a Bixi bike dock just across the street from the hotel, two major bus lines within a couple of locks, and two metro stations within a few hundred meters. Food & drinks: Pick a cuisine and you're likely to be within 15-minutes of walking/public transit/bike rental of that place. St. Laurent northwest of the hotel has tons of places to eat. St. Denis northeast has tons of places, just more tourist-y feeling. And there are restaurants, bars, and take-out places tucked into corners everywhere around the hotel.
